Since 08/09/2019 -The Minister of Defence of Georgia.
From 2001 until 2004 Mr. Irakli Garibashvili held various positions in the private and civil sectors. In 2004-2005 he worked as the Manager of Foreign Procurement Section of the Logistics Department at LLC “Burji” (Cartu-Group) and in 05/2005-10/2005 he was the Deputy-Director of Logistics Department. From 12/2005 until 14/02/2012 Mr. Irakli Garibashvili served as the Chairman of the Board – General Director of the International Charitable Foundation Cartu. In 2007-2012 he was a Member of the Supervisory Board of Cartu Bank. In 2009-2012 Mr. Irakli Garibashvili served as the Director of LLC “Georgian Dream” and in 2012 he became the Founding Member and Head of Revision Commission of the Political Party Georgian “Dream – Democratic Georgia”.
From 2012 to 2015 Mr. Irakli Garibashvili served at various positions of the Georgian Government. In 2012 - 2013 Mr. Irakli Garibashvili was the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia and in 2013 - 2015 he served as the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Since 05/03/2019 he has been the Political Secretary and the Member of Political Council of the Political Party Georgian “Dream – Democratic Georgia”.
In 1999-2004 Mr. Irakli Garibashvili specialized in International Relations at Tbilisi State University, Faculty of International Law and International Relations. In 2002-2004 he specialized in International Relations at Sorbonne University, Faculty of Political Science Paris, France.
