Discussion around the strategic importance of the Black Sea Region was the main topic of the third panel at Georgian Defence and Security Conference.

The conference participants stressed importance of the Black Sea regional stability in the context of Euro-Atlantic security. Turkish journalist Diba Nigar Göksel moderated the panel: “The Wider Black Sea region: Strategic Pillar for Euro-Atlantic Security”. Senior research fellow of “Heritage Foundation” Ariel Cohen, Chairman of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute Frederick Starr, State Secretary for Defence Policy and Planning of the National Defence of Romania Valeriu Nicut and Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Giorgi Baramidze took part in the debates.
